Mechanical Bull

Singer/songwriter Run after Pierson formed Mechanical Bull following the dissolution of his initial marriage, wanting to route his intimate woes through the structure of country tunes about matrimony, alcoholic beverages, as well as the American desire. Joined by a variety of Woodstock-based music artists — like the siren-voiced Avalon Peacock (child of vocalist/composer Annette Peacock) — Pierson crafted the dusty laments of Mechanical Bull’s 2007 debut, Tunes to Obtain Divorced To. The recording received support because of its wry lyrics and exclusive vocal delivery, which combined Pierson’s gravelly pipes with Peacock’s clean, dark alto. Mechanical Bull came back the following 12 months with A Mil Yesterdays, having a modified Woodstock lineup and a visitor overall performance by jazz keyboardist John Medeski.
