MD.45

MD.45 was the name of the obscure, one-off aspect task that briefly united the unlikely duo of Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine and Fear’s Lee Ving. When Mustaine discovered himself with more time on his hands (in addition to unused music) after Megadeth covered up a promo tour because of their Youthanasia discharge, he made a decision to work on monitors with Ving, also enlisting then-Alice Cooper drummer Jimmy DeGrasso (who soon after sign up for Megadeth) and Shrine bassist Kelly Lemieux. The group’s name was produced from reversing the initials of both Mustaine and Ving’s brands (MD: Mustaine, and 45: Ving, since VL will be 45 in Roman numerals). 1996 noticed the discharge of MD.45’s lone discharge, the 11-monitor The Craving.
