Matthews, Wright & King

Matthews, Wright & Ruler were a studio room set up masterminded by Columbia Nashville manufacturer Larry Strickland. At that time (the first ’90s), Shenandoah experienced drowned under a influx of bad promotion, lawsuits, and label woes. It had been Columbia’s idea to stage in to the breach remaining by Shenandoah’s departure. Compared to that end, Strickland as well as the label curved up vocalist/guitarist Raymond Matthews (who was simply currently contracted with Columbia to accomplish a solo recording), bassist/vocalist Woody Wright, and guitarist/vocalist Tony Ruler. THE ENERGY of Love made an appearance in Dec 1991; as the name cut made the very best 50, “Moms Eye” and “Home Huntin'” weren’t almost as successful. Desire Seekers adopted in 1993, but was fulfilled with even much less enthusiasm, and immediately after the trio dissolved. Tony Ruler became a member of Brooks & Dunn’s support music group in 1995; Woody Wright founded an inspirational nation/gospel trio with Michael Sykes and David Ponder; and Raymond Matthews embarked on a single profession. (Incidentally, Shenandoah reunited on the different label and continuing release a music through the entire 1990s).
