Matthew Young

Matthew Young is really a musician, image designer, and writer. He’s known for just two 1980s digital recordings which were privately released. A folk musician for a long time, he became thinking about both popular digital music and critical pc music in the first ’70s. In the summertime of 1976, doctoral learners in Princeton University’s music section sponsored a summertime seminar in pc music, and Little attended. He designed his first noises on punch credit cards within the school’s IBM mainframe, that have been used as digital tapes towards the digital-to-analog laboratory in the executive department. Encouraged from the outcomes, he bought his 1st synth — an EMS Synthi AKS (better referred to as “Eno’s Small Suitcase”) soon thereafter, in addition to some Revox A-77 reel-to-reel tape recorders along with a Roland. From his sonic tests he eventually documented and privately released his debut giving, Repeating Dreams, in 1981. Young’s tests with electronics extended, as do his desire for folk, blues, and contemporary traditional music. On his second record, Traveler’s Advisory, released by his Mt. Rose Information label in 1986, he wed all three, incorporating hammered dulcimer, banjo, vocals, Casio, and drum devices. Included among his personal compositions was a cover of Michael Hurley’s “Werewolf” the songwriter later stated was among the better variations of his tune. Though Small continued to try out, create, and record music, non-e premiered. He eventually started his personal business serving like a visual designer, art movie director, and copywriter.
