Matthew Ryan

An alt-country singer/songwriter within the vein of Josh Rouse and Ryan Adams, Matthew Ryan funnels his rasped vocals and passionate lyrics right into a regular blast of somber, melancholic albums. Blessed in Chester, PA, the youthful Ryan took motivation from such performers as U2, the Substitutes, and Leonard Cohen. He transferred to Delaware and logged many years in some bands before putting your signature on with A&M Information as a single musician in 1996. May Time premiered a year later on, drawing evaluations to Tom Waits and sparking a prolific profession that often noticed Ryan launching one record every a year. His A&M agreement slowly dissolved following the label merged with Interscope Information, and Ryan hopped between brands (including a stint using the U.K.-structured One Small Indian Records) before aligning himself with 00:02:59. Matthew Ryan vs. the Metallic Condition, his 11th launch in 11 years, found its way to 2008.
