Although originally formed being a chamber pop quintet, matt pond PA experienced a number of different lineups throughout its existence, with each incarnation revolving across the abilities of singer/songwriter Matt Fish-pond (previously of Mel’s Rockpile). Fish-pond shaped the group upon relocating from New Britain to Philadelphia, and he done his initial lineup with guitarist/bassist Josh Kramer, cellist Jim Hostetter, violinist Rosie McNamara-Jones, and drummer Sean Byrne. The music group debuted in 1998 with Deer Flats and won best honors within an unsigned music group competition sponsored by on the web store CDNOW. A sophomore work, Measure, implemented in 2000 and garnered evaluations to some stripped-down version from the Cure, as the I Idea YOU HAD BEEN Sleeping EP made an appearance in springtime 2001. Next year, the music group shifted its roster to add drummer Mike Kennedy, bassist Matt Raisch, guitarist Jim Kehoe, and cellist Eve Miller, alongside Fish pond and Hostetter. A limited-run EP, IF YOU’D LIKE Blood, premiered the following summer time, and the music group returned with a fresh full-length recording, Last Light, in Sept 2007. For his fresh album, Fish pond holed himself up in a cabin beyond Bearsville, NY, with maker Chris Hansen and many guest music artists. The producing record, The Dark Leaves, premiered this year 2010, and extra materials from those cabin periods found its method onto many EPs, like the digital discharge Auri Sacra Fames.
