Matt Andersen

Award-winning Canadian blues guitarist and singer/songwriter Matt Andersen is recognized as among Canada’s hardest-working music artists, averaging around 200 live performances each year. Focusing on an earthy mixture of blue-collar folk, electrical blues, and root base rock, the brand new Brunswick native started his musical profession in 2002 using the group Level Top. He released his single debut, Second Period Around, in 2007, adopted in 2008 by Something among, and in ’09 2009 by Piggyback, the second option which was a cooperation with acclaimed harmonica participant Mike Stevens. That same 12 months he released his first concert recording, Live from your Phoenix Theater, and later on his first assortment of vacation music, THE HOLIDAY SEASON. A set of studio room albums, Drive Record (with Mike Stevens) and Coal Miner Blues, adopted in 2011. The Steve Berlin-produced Weightless, his debut long-player for the real North label, found its way to 2014 generating Anderson a Juno nomination for Origins & Traditional Recording of the entire year. For his follow-up, he travelled to NY, working with maker Commissioner Gordon (Amy Winehouse, Joss Rock) to record 2016’s Honest Guy.
