Matchbox Romance

This US rock-band from Poughkeepsie, NY was formed in 1997 by Andrew Jordan (vocals/guitar), Ryan Kienle (bass), Aaron Stern (drums) and Ryan DePaolo (guitar). Jordan, Kienle and Stern acquired previously worked jointly in the music group Fizzlewink, and by adding DePaolo began documenting together beneath the Holiday moniker. A solid online existence helped the music group pass on their emocore-styled music beyond the neighborhood hardcore picture, and resulted in a recording agreement using the renowned Epitaph Information label. A big change of name ensued due to legal issues encircling the Escape moniker, using the debut Matchbox Love EP Western For Wishing surfacing in 2003. This is the music group’s 1st non-Internet launch and was greeted with excitement by both their grassroots fanbase and the united states rock and roll press. The recording Tales And Alibis adopted by the end of the entire year. The production work by Epitaph manager Brett Gurewitz do a fine work of replicating the music group’s fiery live sound, as well as the recording was applauded among the finest post-hardcore debuts of the entire year. In 2004, the quartet released a break up EP with labelmates Movement City Soundtrack. The next Matchbox Love recording Voices followed in the beginning of 2006. It became a straight better recording than the music group’s debut, a dramatic and ambitious documenting that noticed them shifting beyond the slim confines of emo into alt rock and roll territory.
