Marva Hicks

Marva Hicks’ early profession was being a gospel vocalist in Petersburg, Virginia. After going to NY, Hicks was drawn to theater and later got performing classes in Washington, D.C. She documented several demos, after that cut “OVERLOOKING My Make” for Infinity in 1981. Once the label folded, Hicks finished up performing in Lena Horne’s Broadway present for nearly 3 years. Throughout a London tour Hicks fulfilled Stevie Question. She started touring with him within the middle-’80s, and do history vocals on his LP Character types. She authorized with Polydor in the past due ’80s and her debut LP, Marva Hicks, got good crucial notices in 1991, but experienced a lackluster industrial reception.
