Marty Willson-Piper

The guitarist and songwriter for the Cathedral, Marty Willson-Piper has recorded several solo albums, a few of which were released in the us. Art Strike (1988), his initial, includes six monitors in the Australian-only In Representation. Rhyme (1989) and Spirit Level (1992) also have made an appearance on Rykodisc. Willson-Piper spent the rest of the 10 years concentrating on his Cathedral duties before time for solo documenting with 2000’s GOING OUT in Heaven. A blue-ribbon collaborator, Willson-Piper also moonlighted in several notable rings (including Cinerama, ABOUT Eve, as well as the Saints), in addition to working alongside performers as different as Tom Verlaine and Aimee Mann.
