Martin Tillman

Since arriving in the U.S. in 1988, Martin Tillman provides blurred the lines between styles and extended the limitations of modern cello music. Performing with performers like MUCH BETTER THAN Ezra, Ted Hawkins, Chicago, Tracy Chapman, and Beck so that as an associate of two ensembles, Triptych and Axiom of preference, Tillman has modified the cello for a number of varieties of music. His musical research began in European countries and continuing in the U.S. with cellist Lynn Harrell. He graduated through the College or university of Southern California in 1989 using a master’s level in Efficiency. After spending almost a decade dealing with various other artists, he started issuing tasks of his very own. In 1996 he documented an ambient record in Switzerland entitled Lingo; he also offers two collaborations with Michael Hoppe, The Poet and Afterglow. In 2000 Tillman produced his major-label debut using a documenting for Rounder, Eastern Twin, which also explored ambient textures using the cello.
