Martin Rebelski

Before he signed with Damon Gough’s (Badly Drawn Young man) Twisted Nerve imprint in past due 2003, Manchester-based Martin Rebelski was known mainly like a supporting musician. He was Doves’ regular touring keyboardist, and added secrets, glockenspiel, and accordion with their albums. But Rebelski also released his own Thanks a lot for YOUR IDEAS LP on Heavenly in 2003, and its own mild instrumental soundscapes helped capture Gough’s ear. Rebelski debuted on Twisted Nerve in November 2004 with an EP (Play the institution Piano) and full-length (Stickers on Secrets) that combined icy-cool piano instrumentals with contributors’ hushed vocals and flourishes of strings and consumer electronics.
