Marquis Hill

Award-winning trumpeter, composer, and bandleader Marquis Hill is definitely an experienced jazz musician having a bent toward soulful post-bop. A indigenous of Chicago, Hill gained his B.A. in music education and jazz research from North Illinois University in ’09 2009. 3 years later on, he received his Master’s level in jazz pedagogy from DePaul College or university. An extremely lauded performer, Hill earned 1st place in both 2012 International Trumpet Guild’s Jazz Improvisation Competition as well as the 2013 Carmine Caruso International Jazz Trumpet Single Competition.
