Marquess

Though located in Hanover, Germany, Marquess drew heavily over the rhythms and sounds of modern Latin pop, also recording several original music in the Spanish tongue. The group was led by vocalist Sascha Pierro, a German indigenous previously known for collaborations with Patrick Nuo and Jazzkantine. In 2003, his “Wenn Grenzen” was also in the working for the famed Eurovision Melody Contest. Pierro set up Marquess in early 2006 with guitarist Dominik Decker, bassist Marco Heggen, and keyboardist Christian Fleps. Their debut Warner Music one, “Un Temperamento,” quickly surfaced as you of Europe’s break-out summer months hits, eventually getting into the German TOP before the quartet’s self-titled LP. 2007 noticed the band discharge their second record, Frenetica. The singles “Vayamos Companeros” and “You rather than Tokio” had been released. The group was prolific in the next year or two using the albums ¡YA! and Compañía del Sol released in 2008 and 2009, respectively. The group had taken a three-year hiatus and came back with their 5th record, ¡Bienvenido! in 2012.
