The Swedish neo-Merseybeat band Marmalade Souls had its start when Michael Klemmé (vocals, guitar, bass, piano) and Johanna Klemmé (vocals, harmonica) begun to write music jointly in 2001. In 2005, their six-song demonstration attracted interest in Sweden, dispersing towards the U.K. as well as the U.S. Their live shows featured various back-up music artists, among whom they selected Irish expatriate Paddy Lawless (drums, percussion) to become long lasting member in Feb 2006. They performed in Liverpool, Britain, in the International Pop Overthrow in-may 2006 and had been authorized to Rainbow Quartz, which released their debut recording, In Stereo system, on Sept 4, 2007.
