Marla Hansen

A classically trained violist who got her start burning performers like Kanye Western world and Duncan Sheik in addition to Asthmatic Kitty performers like Sufjan Stevens and My Brightest Gemstone, Marla Hansen began performing her very own materials in earnest in the first 2000s. Hansen’s diminutive, eclectic, folky tracks nodded in lots of ways to Stevens’ function, not forgetting various other chamber pop-oriented indie performers just like the Tiny, Jesca Hoop, and Joanna Newsom. Her debut EP, BIG DAY, premiered on Regular Recordings in nov 2007, and highlighted efforts by Stevens (notably in the monitor “Shuffle THE FEET”). Guitarist Sebastien Kreuger and bassist Nate Lithgow also made an appearance on the disk, and they supported Hansen in her live shows.
