Mark Tucker can be an important and versatile Uk flutist. At age 21 he became pricipal flutist from the Symphony Orchestra of Seville, Spain; in 1992, he came back to Britain and founded the tiny, versatile chamber group, The British Outfit. Its nucleus, besides Tucker, can be a string quintet (including dual bass) and harpsichord; the availablility of various other instruments when needed makes the ensemble versatile to a multitude of functions. The English Outfit maintains a active performing schedule and sometimes information. Baroque- and Classical-era compositions type its central repertory, but its general repertory is fairly broad and carries a number of brand-new functions. It frequently performs in institutions and other areas where the viewers has little history in traditional traditional music; that is an expansion of Tucker’s very own fascination with outreach and education. When he travels, he often presents the flute to viewers not conversant using the Classical custom, including some completely beyond your ambit of Traditional western culture, in areas as faraway as the United Arab Emirates. Tag Tucker has made an appearance as soloist with most main United kingdom orchestras, and may be the flute soloist with Music Theater London, the “substitute” opera business of the administrative centre.
