The Tag Leeman Five attracted a good amount of attention around the Uk R&B circuit through the mid-’60s, but their career was cut short from the loss of life of singer Leeman in 1965. Regardless of the patronage from the Manfred Mann group (who created many of Leeman’s classes), Leeman was the average vocalist at greatest, leagues below such peers as Manfred Mann’s personal Paul Jones. The group handled a respectable however, not earth-shaking R&B sound, sticking mainly to well-tested chestnuts like “Green Onions” and “Got My Mojo Functioning.” The initial incarnation of the group just released a few singles, though very much unissued materials was ultimately unearthed.
