Mark A. Humphrey

Mark Humphrey is a freelance journalist since 1979. Until 1984, he was a regular contributor to Frets, an acoustic stringed device magazine. His critiques and profiles possess made an appearance in The LA Reader, Aged Timey Music, LA Daily News, GUITARIST, Esquire, Journal of Nation Music, Playboy, as well as others. Since 1983, he is a regular contributor to Record Roundup; offers written liner records for Robert Wilkins’ Memphis Gospel Vocalist, Blue Fire: A Sunlight Blues Collection, as well as for the forthcoming reissue on Muddy Waters’ 70s CBS recordings. He’s composing a booklet for any Lightnin’ Hopkins and Otis Spann Mosaic reissue; offers created “Prodigal Sons: Child Home and Robert Wilkins” for the International Meeting on African-American Music and Books on religious beliefs versus secularity in African-American music; and it is a vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist.
