Marjorie Ann Evans

b. 17 July 1940, Shreveport, Louisiana, USA. Margie Evans was mainly influenced by Billie Vacation and Bessie Smith. She researched education and music at Grambling University. After shifting to LA in her past due teens, she started dealing with Billy Ward’s Sextet between 1958 and 1964. She produced some unissued recordings for Dore Information in Hollywood in the first 60s and started touring with Ron Marshall’s orchestra through the middle- to past due 60s. In 1969 she became a member of the Johnny Otis music group, documented for Epic and thoroughly toured the united states and china and taiwan. In 1972 she started touring with Willie Dixon’s Chicago All-Stars, and produced her first single recordings for Yambo (1972), United Performers (1973), and Buddah (1974). She was especially renowned on her behalf powerful live shows at night clubs and jazz celebrations in america and Europe. Lately she’s released two good albums on L&R Information.
