Baritone Mariusz Kwiecien continues to be making his method through the typical operatic repertoire on his method to creating a sound career on-stage. Students from the Warsaw Academy, Kwiecien’s debut was a 1993 Krakow Opera creation of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. Then appeared in a number of roles around European countries and America before becoming a member of New York’s Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Youthful Artist Development System. Since his 1999 Met debut, he’s came back there frequently, and in 2011 a creation of Don Giovanni was installed with Kwiecien in the name part, one he’s been connected with often. Within an interview with Opera Information, he discussed how he’s matured in his method of the role, understanding how to use the concepts and talents from the movie director and other stars to create each creation unique. Kwiecien in addition has made an appearance notably as Eugene Onegin, and in Lucia di Lammermoor, Le nozze di Figaro, La bohème, and L’elisir d’amore.
