Marisa Anderson

Marisa Anderson is a classical guitarist, composer, article writer, and sociable activist. Her musical personal is usually melding American traditional musics from blues, gospel, nation, folk, jazz, and circus music to minimalism, digital music, drone, 20th hundred years traditional, and improvisation. In ’09 2009, she documented the totally improvised The Golden Hour for Mississippi Information. Its 12 options for electric guitar or lap metal were documented on four-track tape. The single electric guitar effort Mercury implemented in 2013 (also on Mississippi). The record was internationally acclaimed and produced many year-end lists on the net and in digital mass media. She also released Traditional and Open public Domain Tracks through Grapefruit Information that same season. Given her elevated profile, Anderson’s concerts and celebration appearances in European countries and america were generally sold out. The next 12 months she was a presented visitor on Sharon Vehicle Etten’s Are We There? In 2015, Anderson and Tashi Dorji released a split-LP for Footfalls Information. Her music continues to be featured on many soundtracks including those for Smokin’ Seafood, For the Like of Dolly, Ladies Rock, and Present to Winter season. Anderson’s fourth recording, In to the Light, premiered in June 2016 on her behalf personal Chaos Kitchen Music. Playing guitars, lap metal, pedal metal, and electrical piano, she described the documenting as “an imaginary soundtrack for any science fiction traditional western.”
