Marion Keisker

b. 23 Sept 1917, Memphis, Tennessee, USA, d. 29 Dec 1989. Marion Keisker was Sam Phillips’ helper at Sunlight Information in the 50s, and therefore was the worker who first documented the youthful Elvis Presley in 1953. In 1946, she started doing work for radio place WREC. Phillips became a member of as an announcer a calendar year later so when he released the Memphis Documenting Program in 1950, Keisker proceeded to go along as his associate, continuing to function part-time for the place until 1955. Phillips began Sunlight in 1952 and Keisker organized periods for the blues music artists who documented there. She held a log of most activities at the business, which provided upcoming historians with interesting information. Keisker was working in 1953 when Presley attained Memphis Recording Program to record two music as something special for his mom. She had taken his fee, went the recording devices and made an email of the son’s potential. It had been she who recommended to Phillips that he record Presley on Sunlight the following yr and she who required Presley around to go to disc jockeys as well as the press. Keisker remaining Sunlight in 1957 to become listed on the US Air flow Push, with which she worked well until 1969. She passed away of malignancy in Dec 1989.
