Marilyn Scott

Created and raised in southern California, vocalist Marilyn Scott matters among her first affects singers like Aretha Franklin, Donny Hathaway, Gladys Knight, Janis Joplin, Etta Wayne and Sam Cooke. She started performing in regional clubs and college features when she was 15. She shifted to SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA to attend university on a skill scholarship or grant, and fronted Best 40 and Latin-jazz rings around the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Bay region. Among the countless friends she produced was Emilio Castillo of Tower of Power, who identified her gifts like a vocalist and employed her to accomplish lead and support vocals using the horn-based music group. Those recording classes resulted in her producing her in the past to LA as a studio room session vocalist, where she documented and performed with music artists and organizations including Spyro Gyra, the Yellowjackets, Hiroshima, Etta Wayne and Bobby Womack. The program function resulted in her becoming the just white feminine cast member to tour using the musical Selma, which handled the life span and situations of Dr. Martin Luther Ruler, Jr. Scott’s initial recording being a single artist was an individual edition of Brian Wilson’s “God Just Understands” that strike the Billboard Best 100 and resulted in her first recording, Dreams of Tomorrow, for Atco/Atlantic. Scott’s second recording, Without Warning, produced her the darling from the jazz critics. Her foundation in LA and her years like a studio room singer resulted in a whole lot of movie-soundtrack function, and her special vocals have already been heard for the soundtracks to Torch Music Trilogy and Twins. After teaming up with Bobby Caldwell, she documented Sky Dance, which became popular in Japan and resulted in her personal headlining tour of the united states. In 1992, she documented and released Smile, which presented a duet with Brenda Russell on “YOU DO NOT Understand Me” and “That Guy on My Brain.” On Consider Me with You, her 1996 debut for Warner Bros., she mixed her fascination with traditional R&B and blues, pop, jazz and Brazilian music. She collaborated with Dori Caymmi, George Duke, Russell Ferrante, Ricardo Silvera, Boney Wayne, keyboardist Bob Wayne and Jimmy Haslip. She interprets tracks like Stevie Wonder’s “Parrot of Beauty” and Dexter Wansel’s “I’m in Like ONCE MORE.” Strategies of Love adopted in 1998.
