Marianne Girard

Blessed in Keswick, Ontario, Marianne Girard lived in a little town but discovered plenty of actions to stimulate her, including radio, the Ed Sullivan Present and early folk information. A fan of traditional music, Girard still left home at age group 16 and started playing electric guitar at age group 18. Shifting to London, Ontario, Girard became inspired by many folk performers, including Stan Rogers and Willie P. Bennett, Her initial functionality was November 29, 1972 in the College or university of Traditional western Ontario. At age 21, Girard visited Nashville to hone her art. More venturing ensued, with halts in NY, NEW YORK, Italy and Amsterdam. Performing on tv, in studio room and around different Festival and college or university concert circuits, the vocalist released an recording in 1982 entitled When It Hurts on Sailor Information. In 1983 she also performed in the United Nations Peacefulness Meeting in Toronto. Even more studio and program function ensued, but Girard spent a lot of the nineties increasing her kids. In 2002, Girard released her long-awaited followup WITHIN THIS City on My Color Music. Various papers and mags praised the recording for its design and element. In 2003, the vocalist made an appearance at Winterfolk in Toronto aswell as Canadian Music Week in March, 2003. She also came out in the Eaglewood Folk Event the same yr.
