Set up by José Hernández in 1981, Sol de America became one of many traditional Mexican works within the U.S. executing mariachi (a combined mix of the name Maria using the indigenous diminutive suffix “chi,” popularized within the 1930s when trumpets had been added). José Hernández began getting involved with well-known music after signing up for his father clothing, Mariachi los Galleros, in the 1970s. To help keep Mexican cultural traditions alive and captivate brand-new audiences world-wide, Sol de America mixed mariachi and modern rhythms. Furthermore, José Hernández converted into traditional music after developing Sol de America’s symphonic orchestra.
