Maria Spacagna

A graduate of the brand new Britain Conservatory of Music, Maria Spacagna has sung using the Dallas Opera, the brand new York Town Opera, the Metropolitan Opera in NY, the Bavarian Condition Opera, the Deutsche Opera in Berlin, with La Scala, where she produced her debut in the title function of Madame Butterfly, the initial American ever to execute the function there. She’s also sung the function on the Metropolitan Opera and in Berlin and Cologne. Additionally, she’s sung the component of Liu in Puccini’s Turandot on the Met. Her various other notable roles are the name component in Verdi’s Luisa Miller and Amelia in Simon Boccanegra, which she’s also sung on the Met. Spacagna in addition has performed recitals. Her perhaps most obviously recording to time may be the Vox Information documenting of Madame Butterfly, the initial recording to include every one of the music that Puccini composed, and most of his emendations, one hour even more of music than acquired ever previously been documented. She’s also appeared over the globe premiere recordings of Cilea’s L’Arlesiana and Mascagni’s Lodoletta, both, just like the Butterfly, executed by Charles Rosekrans.
