Besides performing a large number of Latin favorites throughout a long profession, María Mendez Grever wrote a lot of her own strikes, including “Cuando Vuelva a Tu Lado,” “Júrame,” “Te Quiero Dijiste,” and “Ya Zero Me personally Quieres.” After Stanley Adams composed new British lyrics predicated on “Cuando Vuelva a Tu Lado,” the melody — retitled “Just what a Diff’rence per day Produced” — became a favorite standard, most well-known for Dinah Washington’s strike edition in 1959.
