Maria Feltham

With her boyfriend of that time period, producer Mark Wirtz, Maria Feltham wrote the music to the only real, self-titled album by Philwit & Pegasus in 1970. Although vaguely an idea record about, as Wirtz once defined it, “struggle, dread and fantasized pleasure,” it contains mediocre pop music that drew from both easy hearing and rock and roll. The arrangements had been lush and various, at times inspired by folk-rock harmonies, at others by histrionic Tom Jones-styled crooning, theatrical musicals, as well as the Seaside Boys. Feltham acquired only written just a little poetry before focus on the record commenced, but evidently her contribution towards the record was being a lyricist, though she actually is given lone songwriting credit for just one of the monitors, “Pleasure.” Feltham also co-wrote both edges of Philwit & Pegasus’s non-LP one, “Elephant Melody”/”Pseudo Phoney CONFUSING Croney.”
