Margie Day

With her gutsy, no-holds-barred delivery, Margie Day (born Margaret Hoffler) surfaced as a good R&B vocalist from the 1950s. As business lead vocalist for the Griffin Brothers Orchestra, Day time double reached the R&B TOP between 1950 and 1951, financing her boisterous tone of voice to “Street-Walkin’ Daddy” as well as the Willie Dixon-penned “Small Crimson Rooster.” Influenced by her achievement, she remaining the Griffin Brothers Orchestra to execute briefly with Paul Williams’ music group. By the finish of 1952, she experienced moved on towards the Floyd Dixon Combo, with whom she toured through the entire Midwest. Announcing her pension in 1964, Time came back to her hometown of Norfolk, Virginia. Inspired to come back to executing, she became a member of the Dick Morgan Trio in the past due ’60s, and documented an record of jazz criteria. Her go back to music was brief. She still left music completely in 1969 because of a serious disease.
