A talented guitarist because the later 1980’s, Margaret Slovak finally arrived with her debut saving in 1998, an introspective group of unaccompanied solos, Undying Wish. She started playing electric guitar when she was 12 and was functioning skillfully four years afterwards. Slovak examined jazz and traditional music plus visible artwork, graduating from the Cornish University from the Arts in Seattle in 1986. She furthered her education by participating in the Kansas Town Artwork Institute, the School of Missouri Conservatory of Music and learning with such music artists as Ralph Towner, John Abercrombie and Kenny Wheeler. She spent 2 yrs in Denver and during 1988-93 resided in NY, playing in regional night clubs and leading her personal group. One of the music artists who she performed with where Fred Hersch, Michael Formanek and Artwork Lande. In 1994, Slovak relocated to Portland, Oregon. She toured Germany as well as the Czech Republic in nov 1996 and made an appearance locally through the entire Pacific Northwest. Furthermore to her perormances, Margaret Slovak shows acoustic guitar (both at schools and privately) and it is a painter.
