Marcos Leite

Learning music since he was five, Marcos Leite debuted professionally in choir and vocal music in 1967; having developed several choirs, which the main may be the Garganta Profunda. As an arranger, he included the advanced harmonic vocabulary produced by bossa nova and MPB in to the vocal parts. Leite also innovated in the scenic path, infusing a lighter method of the previously solemn choir shows. Having founded in 1985 the vocal group Garganta Profunda and, until his demise, its movie director, Leite marketed through the group a variety of music and movie theater which became important. He also created two LPs and three CDs documented with the group, combined with the live documented LP Aos Vivos by Cobra Coral and a Compact disc with the Coral Furb (Blumenau, Santa Catarina). Having done recordings with Caetano Veloso, Edu Lobo, Paulo Moura, and various other artists, Leite organized Chico Buarque’s musical Suburbano Coração, participated in the record and present Yes, Nós Temos Braguinha (1997), and co-directed (with Egberto Gismonti) the music from the play A Bandeira de Cinco Mil-Récan be. Having developed and aimed the Orquestra de Vozes de Meninos de Rua (Tone of voice Orchestra of Streetboys), with 1,200 voices, Leite also created a rigorous activity being a professor, on the Celebration de Londrina (Paraná), Oficinas de Música de Curitiba (Music Workshops of Curitiba, Paraná), Celebration de Música Instrumental de Ouro Preto (Instrumental Music Celebrations of Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais), as well as the Painécan be Funarte de Regência Coral (Funarte Sections of Choir Conduction).
