Marc Cary

Elevated in Washington, D.C., Marc Cary is becoming known as probably one of the most initial jazz pianists in NY. A guy of eclectic likes, Cary includes a solid post-bop basis but in addition has explored Afro-Cuban rhythms, digital groove music, along with other directions along with his numerous ensembles. Upon arriving in NY, Cary was used beneath the wing of Mickey Bass and Beaver Harris. His 1st big-time gigs arrived in the first ’90s with Arthur Taylor, Betty Carter, and Roy Hargrove. In 1994, he became Abbey Lincoln’s pianist and arranger. Cary’s personal records show great promise, you start with 1994’s Cary On. Two produces for Arabesque adopted, Pay attention in 1996 as well as the Antidote in 1998. An uncharacteristic electronica task titled Rhodes Forward, Vol. 1 made an appearance in 1999, as do a live recording by Cary’s globe group Indigenous People (both on the Jazzateria label). Cary’s acoustic trio released Trillium in early 2000.
