Maraca

Maraca may be the Cuban jazz and Tropical clothing led by flautist, pianist, composer and arranger Orlando “Maraca” Valle (given birth to Havana, 1966). After playing along with vocalist Bobby Carcassés and taking part in Chucho Valdés’ Irakere the talented musician went by himself. The 12-member Maraca & Otra Visión as well as the Latin jazz Maraca and Afro-Cuban Jazz Experts followed immediately after. From January 6th towards the 31st, 2002 Maraca documented the Tropical-inflected Tremenda Rumba! at Havana’s Miramar Studios, offering vocals by Wilfredo Campa and having to pay tribute towards the Cuban dance design referred to as Danzon.
