This obscure Canadian group gained short-lived minor fame when former Kinks’ bass player, Pete Quaife, joined their ranks in 1969. He added to Maple Oak’s lone Uk single, ‘Kid Of A Weapon’, but however the ensemble finished an record, Quaife discontinued them for a far more conventional life being a industrial musician. Although he originally resolved in Denmark, Pete afterwards transferred to Montreal, where he produced an impromptu live appearance using the Kinks whenever a 80s tour reached the town. Maple Oak dissolved many years beforehand.
