b. 28 Dec 1871, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, d. 1946, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Among the Crescent Town’s legendary statistics, Perez was a well known cornet player, music group leader and instructor. He rarely performed anywhere else, employed in dancehalls and leading the Onward Brass Music group in road parades. He produced few travels outside his city, playing in Chicago in 1915 and once again in 1928. Fellow music artists thought extremely of him, recommending that his technique and order had been at least on the par along with his better-known contemporaries. With the 40s he was inactive through sick health and passed away in 1946.
