Manual

A producer that functions within a world where glitch and ambient pop overlap, Odense, Denmark’s Jonas Munk applies his understanding of piano, bass, and acoustic guitar — devices he began taking part in in his early teenagers — to soundscapes of programmed beats and crackles and creakings. Beneath the name Manual, Munk debuted having a well-received self-titled 12″ within the Hobby Sectors label. In past due 2001, the full-length Until Tomorrow premiered by Germany’s Morr Music. Like late-period Chat Talk, among Munk’s perfect inspirations (alongside Planks of Canada), Until Tomorrow’s greatest moments accomplish a rare simpleness where seemingly arbitrary elements fall flawlessly into place. Ascend, the similarly great follow-up, premiered a year later on.
