Manolo Caracol

Manolo Caracol (given birth to Manuel Ortega Juarez) was one of the biggest vocalists in the annals of flamenco music. His many recordings and film looks made him among Spain’s top performers of the middle-20th century. An exceptionally passionate vocalist, he attracted interest at an extremely early age. Affectionately referred to as Nino de Caracol, he obtained a solid status for his performing at regional fiestas. At age 13, he positioned 1st in a performing competition, the Lorca Cante Jondo competition, in Granada. Caracol reached his apex after conference and falling deeply in love with flamenco dancer/vocalist Lola Flores in 1943. Their divorce was the 1st annulment of the canonical relationship in pro-Franco Spain. Although he attempted to create another few, including one along with his child, Luisa Ortega, Caracol was struggling to regain the momentum of his early profession. A lot of Caracol’s later on life was specialized in his golf club, the Basket Manufacturers, which he went until his Feb 1973 death within an automobile accident.
