Metalcore continued to trend in the mid-2000s, and Manntis fueled the open fire. Dynamic since 2000 around southern California, Manntis didn’t gain a foothold nationally until 2004 as well as the band’s involvement in MTV’s Fight for Ozzfest, possible competition that pitted up-and-coming metallic hopefuls against one another in competition for an archive offer and Ozzfest tour place. Manntis didn’t earn the competition, nonetheless it still offered them an opportunity to tour the country. By Apr 2005, vocalist Jake Sirokman, guitarists Adair Cobley and Jeremy Swanson, bassist Clint Gregory, and drummer Wayne Sanders have been authorized by Century Press; Sleep within your Grave, Manntis’ roaring debut, made an appearance the next June.
