Manning Sherwin

b. 4 January 1902, Philadelphia, Pa, USA (1898 may also be cited), d. 26 July 1974, LA, California, USA. After their studies at Columbia University or college, he became a songwriter and composer, employed in theater and movies. Among films where his tunes made an appearance are Blossoms On Broadway (1937), University Golf swing (1938) and A WOMAN Must Live (1939). He also published the ratings for Stolen Heaven (1938), Ruler Arthur Was A Gentleman (1942) as soon as Upon A Desire (1947). Individual tunes, sometimes with numerous collaborators, included ‘Don’t Ever Keep Me’ (with Val Visitor), ‘Got A Bee IN MY OWN Bonnet’ (Visitor), ‘I GET YOURSELF A Kick From A Circus Parade’ and ‘If YOU CAN IMAGINE Me’ (Paul Herrick), ‘It Occurred EXACTLY LIKE That’ and ‘It’ll HAVE A Small Period’ (Douglas Furber and Marty Symes), ‘It SHOULD BE You’, ‘Guy About The Home’, ‘Midnight In Santiago’, ‘The Instant I Noticed You’, ‘Moon For Sale’, ‘Music For Love’, ‘No Band ON HER BEHALF Finger’, ‘Painting Rainbows’, ‘Tremble It Up Tremble It Well’, ‘Period And Time Once again’, ‘Under Your Windowpane’, ‘Waiting around’, ‘What Rumba Will To Love’, ‘When Eagles Take flight’, ‘Who’s Your Like’, ‘Why Can’t It EVENTUALLY Me’, ‘Cover Yourself In Natural cotton Wool’, ‘You’ll Like The Military’ and ‘You’re A Organic’. Although many of these music were quite great of the kind, they quickly dated and few proceeded to go in to the repertoire of performers and were hence rarely, if, recorded beyond their original configurations. A notable exemption was ‘A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square’, created in 1940 with Eric Maschwitz. Even though melody was redolent of wartime London, its functionality and documenting by ratings of performers so when an instrumental discovered lasting curiosity and appreciation considerably beyond simple nostalgic reminiscences.
