Among the Czech Republic’s initial extreme metal rings, Maniac Butcher was formed in 1992, before Czechoslovakia’s peaceful splintering, and continued to produce a small number of albums and much more singles and mini-releases before crumbling toward the finish from the decade. Many of these included only small deviations from your misanthropic, obscure, and decidedly lo-fi dark metal blueprint well-liked by many Western underground metal rings from the ’90s (Darkthrone, early Mayhem, etc.), and found numerous part-time music artists collaborating with ever-present, corpse-painted duo, Barbarud Hrom (vocals) and Vlad Blasphemer (acoustic guitar, bass, drums).
