Following demise of Manfred Mann, Mike Hugg (b. 11 August 1942, Andover, Hampshire, Britain; drums/vibraphone) and Manfred Mann (b. Manfred Lubowitz, 21 Oct 1940, Johannesburg, South Africa; keyboards) pursued their jazz/rock and roll route by forming Section Three being a sideline with their profitable career writing effective tv jingles. This fearless task was originally known as Emanon and included Bernie Living (alto saxophone/flute), Steve York (bass), Craig Collinge (drums) and highlighted sessions from a number of the finest modern jazz music artists including Harry Beckett, Derek Wadsworth, Chris Pyne and Dave Quincey. They instantly established themselves in the intensifying rock and roll circuit, but cannot use of the tiny membership environment. Their two albums had been exceptional and imaginative but emerged as a significant shock to people old supporters who anticipated anything comparable to Manfred Mann. The music group was blighted with complications because of Mann and Hugg needing to support the business financially, and due to trying to determine themselves as something apart from a pop group. The ones that backed the endeavour weren’t disappointed, although Manfred shortly returned to a far more commercial route with Manfred Mann’s Globe Band.
