Mando & the Chili Peppers

Fronted by Armando Almendarez (aka Mando), this San Antonio strap was mostly of the, if not the very first, Mexican-American rock and roll & roll teams in the past due 1950s. They documented some uncommon singles, and an extremely uncommon LP, for the Crest label, but by no means made any other thing more than a local impact. Even though mere existence of the Mexican-American rock-band within the pre-Ritchie Valens period is usually interesting, their real music was qualified but derivative R&B-soaked rock and roll, with smoky sax breaks and Mando’s foggy vocals at the forefront. The majority of their materials was rock and roll, R&B, nation, and pop addresses, the plans and Mando’s delivery displaying a strong personal debt to the brand new Orleans R&B of Fat Domino specifically. They never documented following the 1950s, although it’s known that these were still playing San Antonio bones in the first 1960s.
