Makoto Ozone

A leading jazz musician in Japan, Makoto Ozone has produced a successful changeover to America, where he became equally prominent within this nation’s improvisational community. He started on body organ at four, after that used piano as an adolescent. He visited Berklee in 1980 and examined composing and organizing. He was observed by Gary Burton and afterwards documented with him and was section of his music group. Ozone’s striking capability (specifically on mid-tempo parts) and amazing technique produced him a huge hit on the Kool Jazz Celebration. His 1984 debut documenting highlighted Burton and bassist Eddie Gomez. It had been a wonderful example of comprehensive understanding and mastery of the entire jazz piano range. Ozone later caused Western european pianist Michel Petrucciani and spent comprehensive time studying traditional music.
