Maki Namekawa

Japanese pianist Maki Namekawa studied with Mikio Ikezawa in the Kunitachi School of Music in Tokyo, and with Henriette Puig-Roget on the Paris Conservatoire. She continuing her use Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Werner Genuit, Kaya Han, and Stefan Litwin. She trained from 1997 to 2002 at Saarbrücken, Karlsruhe, and Darmstadt, and is a regular guest musician at many music festivals. Furthermore to her shows being a soloist, where she’s centered on the key pad music of Franz Joseph Haydn and Philip Cup, Namekawa has duos with her hubby, Dennis Russell Davies, plus they possess documented the four hands variations of Igor Stravinsky’s L’Oiseau de feu, Pétrouchka, and Le Sacre du printemps in the Sinfonieorchester Basel label.
