Maids of Gravity

Maids of Gravity briefly floated in to the open public consciousness using the hallucinogenic “Only Thinking” in 1995, a monitor off their self-titled debut record. Maids of Gravity shaped in the first ’90s by Ed Ruscha (vocals, electric guitar) after he still left Medicine. Named following a group Ruscha noticed in a fantasy, the L.A.-structured Maids of Gravity documented their initial full-length in 1994 for Vernon Yard Records. Also offering guitarist Jim Putnam (also previously of Medication) and drummer Irwin, Maids of Gravity’s neo-psychedelic sound countered the grunge craze of the first ’90s, but “Just Fantasizing” was the only real song that could penetrate the heap of Nirvana and Pearl Jam clones. Even so, it was more than enough to obtain Maids of Gravity asked to radio-station celebrations and opening slot machine games for Bush and Matthew Lovely. In 1996, the music group employed Velvet Underground tale John Cale to create their next record, THE VERY FIRST Second. FOR THE Initial Second, Maids of Gravity ventured further into acidity rock and roll, weaving otherworldly lyrics with drugged-out electric guitar jams. Eugene Gorester (electric guitar) and Tag Kay (bass) had been put into the group. Maids of Gravity released Unusual Route in 2000.
