Maggie Björklund

Pedal steel guitarist Maggie Björklund was created and raised in Denmark, but her performing style is natural American desert pop music, a method that is wonderfully referred to as “the sound following the gunfight…” Björklund is most beneficial known in Europe as an associate of the group the Darleens, so that as a included session player participant with Lennart Ginman, Miss B. Haven, Niels Skousen, yet others; in the U.S., she’s worked with Tag Pickerel & His Praying Hands, been highlighted as a program player for manufacturers Johnny Sangster and Steve Fisk, and did extensive use Exene Cervenka. Her debut single album, Coming House, which featured visitor areas from Calexico’s Joey Melts away and John Convertino and performers Jon Auer, Tag Lanegan, and Rachel Flotard, premiered in Europe in ’09 2009, using a U.S. discharge on Bloodshot Information in 2011. In 2012, she not merely made an appearance on Large Sand’s Tucson: A Nation Rock and roll Opera, but became the pedal metal guitarist in the Peacocks, an all-female ensemble which has supported Jack Light in concert. She also a highlighted guitarist on his Lazaretto record. Björklund’s sophomore documenting, Shaken, was made by John Parish, who also made an appearance onto it, as do Convertino. It had been released by Bloodshot in Oct of 2014.
