A French composer who was simply the college student of Masse and Franck. He helped to effect a result of a revitalization in French music, specifically in chamber music and vocal music. Saint-Saens performed his Piano Concerto for an unappreciative target audience (possibly due to the grave thematic products). Other functions which he made up included quintets, quartets, trios, sonatas, concertos, suites, fugues and a cantata.
