Lyonnais

Inspired with a performance from American avant-garde composer and performer Rhys Chatham in 2008, long-term friends and musical collaborators Farbod Kokabi and Farzad Moghaddam go about trying to fill up a void in the experimental Atlanta music scene. Developing their suggestions like a duo in a variety of practice areas, Kokabi (guitars, vocals, synths) and Moghaddam (bass, vocals, synths) made a decision to enlist assistance from fellow music artists — guitarist and vocalist Lee Tesche and drummer TJ Blake — to flesh out their audio. Earning support slot machines with famous brands Deerhunter, Grouper, and Lightning Bolt, the four-piece utilized these live shows to build up their design — a variety of My Bloody Valentine-inspired shoegaze, extreme drones, and Krautrock. In ’09 2009, Lyonnais go about documenting their debut launch Want for Want Nowhere. Documented and made by the music group itself, the self-released recording was originally pressed on limited-edition cassettes and offered at gigs and via their personal website. By the end of 2010, they going to NY to record their second launch at a studio room possessed by Ryan Rasheed (Prefuse 73) and Brad Hurst. The classes were scrapped however in May 2011 the music group signed a cope with Hurst’s label Hoss Information, which then continued to reissue the music group’s debut recording that October.
