Tenor saxophonist Lynn Wish was noted for his clothes and instrumental remakes of established pre-rock pop anthems. Wish joined Ruler Kolax’s music group when he graduated from senior high school in Birmingham through the ’40s. He afterwards changed into Islam, and became observed for putting on a turban, though few ever known as him Al Hajji Abdullah Rascheed Ahmed. Wish signed with Magic in 1950, however the agreement demonstrated invalid. He shifted to Superior, where he cut “Tenderly,” a tune that was afterwards found by Chess.
